FIRE BUG

Fire Bug

Fire Bug

When one takes upon themselves responsibility,
The actions of each person must be ruled quite carefully.
When a young child plays with matches, though they think it is fun,
It is every chosen action that determines what we become.

Now each baby must learn to crawl, then walk, and then to run.
In life's never-ending story, you can choose what you become.
If one chooses Heaven's knowledge, then we grow towards the Son.
If one chooses vanity, from true wisdom they will run.

Now within each chosen action, a reaction's sure to be.
In our search for satisfaction, we must keep our spirits free.
If we let Christ's wisdom guide us to a high and nobler way.
Then the fire bug within us will not scorch our souls today.

The above two-dimensional sculpture is 5ft 4in high by 5ft 7in wide, called "Fire Bug". and is sold with the accompanying poem "Fire Bug".

Last summer one of the neighborhood boys went to a woodpile between the neighbor's garge and my wooden fence. In this darkened area, he played with matches. The result of this careless action could have been far more serious. We were quick to catch the fire in it's beginning stages, and only one side of the garage and the fence were damaged. The sculpture's background is from the burned wood of my neighbor's garage. Fire Bug is dedicated to the temptiation we all face from time to time and the hope that this sculpture may re-awaken in us the necessity to resist all those evil thoughts that can burn both our physical and spiritual serlves.

The original artwork may be acquired for a purchase price of $144,000.00. Half the purchase price will be donated to P.E.A.C.E., a non-profit corporation.
